The Board Hound provides long and short-term boarding, daycare and other services to dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. We have two indoor play areas and our RoofTop PlayTM area outside to keep all our dogs happy. Our boarding suites accommodate small, medium and large dogs. We also offer joint suites for dogs in the same family.

The Board Hound is located in Arlington, Virginia.

Dog Daycare Philosophy:
At The Board Hound, their daycare was established to enrich the lives of the dogs in our community through healthy outlets for play and socialization. Their smaller play groups come with individual care and attention, while providing a comfortable, safe, daycare environment.

Their facility in Old Town, Alexandria, is 4600 square feet with individual suites for resting, two indoor play spaces and a covered outdoor space. Their facility is always temperature controlled for comfort and safety, with flooring made of epoxied concrete to prevent paw and pad injuries. And because their floor and walls are non-porous, they are easy to disinfect and keep clean.

The Board Hound always prioritizes behavioral health, and they will customize your dog’s daycare schedule and activities to their preferences. As every dog experiences behavior changes throughout their lives, they do their best to maintain your dog’s love for daycare by providing enriching activities and custom social outlets that are best suited to them.

They understand that not all dogs are the same so they customize each dog’s daily activities to suit their individual needs. As the dynamics fluctuate throughout the day, activities are monitored and customized to ensure that all the dogs stay safe, happy, and healthy. Their goal is to provide a positive play space for dogs to flourish and be dogs. Their approach is always fear and force-free, and follows standards that build healthy relationships between the dogs and the staff they interact with.

At The Board Hound, they understand that every dog has unique needs while in daycare. They do our absolute best to accommodate any special request for your dog while in their care. They can accommodate a wide range of requests to suit your dog’s needs, ranging from midday lunch to scheduled rest time.

At The Board Hound, their goal is always to set a higher standard for dog boarding. Their boarding services are fully-customized, robust enrichment boarding with a focus on individualized care to meet your dogs needs throughout their entire stay. Their boarding options can accommodate rambunctious and social puppies to antisocial senior adults. No matter what stage of life, they can ensure that your dog will have a great time. Unaltered dogs can be accommodated as well, we do not have a spay and neuter requirement. However, all our dogs must be human-friendly and be well-adjusted to our facility before their first boarding stay with us. It is highly recommended to bring your dog in for several daycare visits before boarding to allow them to gain confidence, build relationships with our staff, and become familiar with our facility and routines. The better they know your dog and they know The Board Hound, the better care they will be able to provide.

They pride themselves in their ability to provide individual accommodations for dogs boarding with The Board Hound, while also having the ability to provide shared suites for dogs in the same family, or as requested. Their boarding dogs have 24-hour, on-site care. The Board Hound is the only boarding facility in Arlington with on-site overnight supervision, and one of the only facilities in all of the metro area. Their priority is to provide a safe and comfortable place for your dog, for short or long-term boarding stays.
